The City of Ridgefield is developing a Master Plan for Paradise Pointe Park, a 15-acre park within the Paradise Pointe Subdivision, located north of Pioneer Canyon. This park will feature unique recreational opportunities, including trails and natural areas, and will complement nearby Boyse Park and adjacent trails. The plan is being developed with community input to ensure it meets local needs and enhances the area's recreational appeal.

Project Background

The Paradise Pointe Park Master Plan is an initiative by the City of Ridgefield to develop a new 15-acre park located within the Paradise Pointe Subdivision. This park, owned by HSR Capital, LLC, will be dedicated to the City upon completion. The City has engaged MacKay Sposito, a consultant experienced in parks and recreation planning, to create a master plan that integrates stakeholder input and aligns with the broader vision for the subdivision. Key features include a natural trail system within the Allen Canyon Creek watershed and connections to nearby Boyse Park. This planning effort involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including community members, City Council, Parks Board, and local organizations, to develop a unique recreational space that enhances the area’s outdoor amenities.

The park is currently called Paradise Pointe because it's being developed in the Paradise Pointe neighborhood. The City acknowledges that this name might cause confusion given its proximity to Paradise Point State Park. A formal naming process will be conducted before the park opens.

Next Steps

Concept Development: MacKay Sposito will develop high-level concepts and operational strategies for the park.

Open House: Presentation of two master plan concept alternatives with an opportunity for attendees to give feedback on the options.

On Wednesday, November 6 the City of Ridgefield held an Open House to present these options and collect feedback from the community. If you weren't able to make it, please take a few minutes to review the concepts and provide your feedback. This survey will be open through Thursday, November 21.

Review and Approval: The preliminary master plan will be presented to the Parks Board and City Council for feedback, and the final plan approval is expected by December 2024.

Construction Planning: Once approved, construction is anticipated to begin in 2025, with the park potentially opening in Fall 2025.
