September 2026 Project Update - Eastside Elevated Water Reservoir
Work is underway on the City’s new 2.5-million-gallon elevated water reservoir on the east side of Ridgefield.
Since construction began in July, crews with contractor T. Bailey and its subcontractors have been busy preparing the site for the new reservoir. Work so far has included removing existing structures, clearing trees and vegetation, grading the site and installing erosion and sediment control measures.

Currently, work is focused on building the foundation that will support the reservoir.
Crews are installing 72 foundation piles, each about 24 inches wide. The piles will extend more than 90 feet below the ground to reach a strong layer of soil and rock that can support the weight of the elevated reservoir.
While much of this work happens below ground and may not be easy to see from outside the construction site, it is an important part of building a reservoir that will safely serve the Ridgefield community for many years.

What’s Next?
Once the piles are installed, crews will build the pile cap, a large foundation footing that will connect the piles below and support the reservoir above. Work on the pile cap is expected to begin by the end of October.
The Eastside Elevated Water Reservoir project remains on schedule and within approved budget.
Progress updates will continue as this project moves through construction phases. Thank you for your patience as this important investment in Ridgefield’s water system takes shape.
Thank you for your contribution!
