The Eastside Elevated Water Reservoir project will construct a new elevated water storage tank on the east side of Interstate 5 in Ridgefield.

Purpose and Need

This project is critical to addressing the short- and long-term water supply needs of the eastern half of the City. The new Eastside Elevated Water Reservoir will have a capacity of approximately 2.5 million gallons (MG) that is expected to provide water supply for current and future demand for at least the next 15-20 years. A site plan is being developed to plan for a second water tank in the long-term future. When complete, the project will provide additional storage for current and future water demands and stabilize water pressure in a reliable, efficient manner.

The reservoir also provides an opportunity for public art to be displayed on the elevated tower. The process for this opportunity will be refined through the design stage.

Project Details

The project includes planning, modeling, design, construction and construction management phase services associated with the proposed Elevated Water Reservoir and connections to the existing water system in S. 5th Street.

Demolition of the existing structure was completed in February 2026 and a ceremonial groundbreaking was held on June 1, 2026.

Construction will begin in June 2026 and is anticipated to be complete in June 2028.
