KenDawg199 asked 12 days agoHello,
That area would be landscaped/managed by the property owner, "Pioneer Village Holdings LLC," not the city. Please contact them directly for information.
Thank you.

Mike Williams asked 13 days agoThank you for reaching out!
We will relay this to Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) to have them remove the mile markers. This was a large transition and we are still catching some wayward signs. Thank you for letting us know.

Any updates on the splash pad? I saw it was running the other day, but still closed. Hoping we are close! :)
Tutu Rose asked about 1 month agoOur most recent update on the Splash Pad was Tuesday, July 30 and is pasted below. We are currently still in the testing phase.
Tuesday, July 30 Update:
This week, the City will be supervising the contractor’s testing on the Overlook Park Splash Pad that requires the above ground jets to be on. The Splash Pad will be closed to the public during testing, please respect this closure and refrain from playing in the water or on the pad.
There are two critical systems that must work for a recirculating Splash Pad to be operational and safe. First, the mechanical system that sprays, collects, and recirculates water must function at the right flow without major water loss. Second, the system that filters and sanitizes the water must be able to maintain safe chlorine levels. If chlorine levels fall too low, the water can grow harmful bacteria. If chlorine levels are too high, it can be dangerous to users. These are the systems that the contractor has been working on, and this week’s testing will allow us to make sure the system can successfully maintain safe operation. Once open, this system will receive routine testing and maintenance similar to any public pool.
Results from this testing will determine when the Splash Pad may be able to open. If the system functions safely and properly, we may be able to open soon. If there are still critical issues, we will need to have the contractor continue working to make the feature safe.
In the meantime, please do not enter the Splash Pad when testing is in progress. We will let you know as soon as we have more information.

Will the splash pad ever actually open? I thought it was supposed to open last year?
Jeff Hansen asked 4 months agoYes, the splash pad will open this summer.
The plan was for the splash pad to open in the summer of 2023. Unfortunately, we have experienced construction delays and equipment failures that have delayed the project completion and opening. We anticipate announcing a grand opening date soon.

Share In front of Union Ridge Elementary on N 5th avenue there are newly erected tow company signs. However there are absolutely no lane markings and no signs saying what if any rules there are on parking there. Is this private parking? Are there limited hours? Angled parking? If cars are towed for breaking non-posted rules that's gonna open a can of worms. on Facebook Share In front of Union Ridge Elementary on N 5th avenue there are newly erected tow company signs. Gary Ambrosia asked 5 months agoHello and thank you for submitting your question.
That property, those parking spots and those signs belong to the Ridgefield School District. The City did not install the signs. If you have questions about how the parking should be used, the Ridgefield School District would be the best contact.

Someone said that temporary plastic signs are not allowed according to city ordinances. Only for sale signs and the like are allowed but must be removed in a certain time frame. Is this true?
Kenneth Stewart asked 6 months agoGreat question, and one we hear a lot.
Temporary signs, defined as signs on stakes or that can be manually pushed or hammered into the ground, no larger than four square feet and three feet in height may be placed in the public right of way but must be located between the abutting property line and the back of the nearest curb or nearest edge of the roadway and may not be placed in any median. Temporary signs shall be removed within sixty days. These types of signs may be removed sooner than sixty days if the sign is in need of repair, is worn, dilapidated or creates a public nuisance. They are also removed during mowing season for the purpose of mowing along City of Ridgefield roadways.
Temporary signs are NOT ALLOWED anywhere in the right of way on Pioneer Street.
