Hello and thank you for submitting your question.

That property, those parking spots and those signs belong to the Ridgefield School District. The City did not install the signs. If you have questions about how the parking should be used, the Ridgefield School District would be the best contact.

Great question, and one we hear a lot.

Temporary signs, defined as signs on stakes or that can be manually pushed or hammered into the ground, no larger than four square feet and three feet in height may be placed in the public right of way but must be located between the abutting property line and the back of the nearest curb or nearest edge of the roadway and may not be placed in any median. Temporary signs shall be removed within sixty days. These types of signs may be removed sooner than sixty days if the sign is in need of repair, is worn, dilapidated or creates a public nuisance. They are also removed during mowing season for the purpose of mowing along City of Ridgefield roadways.

Temporary signs are NOT ALLOWED anywhere in the right of way on Pioneer Street.

If you have further questions about this, please contact our Conde Enforcement officer at Tammi.Neblock@ridgefieldwa.us

Thank you for reaching out. There was recently an article in The Reflector discussing development coming to Ridgefield. In this article, there was a map showing land owned by Peace Health. They have owned this land for quite a while and have not submitted any applications to us indicating plans to develop it.

As part of the process of establishing a Tax Increment Area, the City committed to purchasing property for a new CCFR fire station by 2025 that will serve both the TIA area and the broader City. You can read more about this mitigation plan in the update on the TIA project: https://ridgefieldroundtable.org/tax-increment-area/news_feed/agreement-on-mitigation-plan

It is a common misconception that the City is picking and choosing individual businesses to build here. This is not how the development process works.

Through tools such as zoning, land use, and permitting the City sets standards for what kind of development (land use) will be permitted for specific zoning and the level of quality that buildings must meet. It is up to business owners and developers to choose whether they would like to build here.

When the City receives an application for a new business building permit, our job is to make sure it is an allowed land use at that location and ensure, through design standards, that the location with be the highest quality version of that business. We are not able to tell a business they cannot build here if the land they would like to build on is appropriately zoned and they are meeting design standards with their building.

If you have more questions about the development process, please contact Community Development at 360-887-3908.

We can confirm that the City has received an application from In-N-Out Burger for an In-N-Out location in the Union Ridge Town Center development. Our permitting and engineering team has worked closely with In-N-Out to ensure they are not only creating enough queuing spaces to avoid backups onto roads, but also that the design of the building will be unique, high-quality and complementary to Ridgefield.

Thanks for reaching out and sharing your thoughts about the need for a park in the Seven Wells/Cloverhill area. The process of planning and building parks is quite involved and falls under the City's Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces (PROS) Plan, last updated in 2020. We're gearing up for another update later this year.

While we can't make promises about a park in your specific area, we want you to know that your comment hasn't gone unnoticed. Your input is valuable in shaping the neighborhood's future. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts.

    Thank you for your question.

The splash pad had been constructed just as designed. The pad is about 2,000 square feet with jets to spray water upwards for water play area during the warm season. This splash pad was intentionally designed without above ground water features. Due to our climate, a water play area will only be used for a few months out of the year. In order to avoid the area being un-used space the rest of the year, the splash pad was designed to be flat, so that the space can be used for events or activities in the off-season.

The circular design represents the mountains of our region, the circles are different colored concrete.

The surrounding area has been graded as designed and turf installed. Additional grading is not planned at this time.

If you have additional questions, please contact our Parks Manager Corey Crownhart at Corey.Crownhart@ridgefieldwa.us.
