What is the Comprehensive Plan?
Envision Ridgefield 2045 is the city project to review and update its comprehensive plan. The comprehensive plan is the 20-year growth plan and policy document for the City of Ridgefield and the Ridgefield Urban Growth Area (UGA).
2016-2035 Comprehensive Plan
The 2016-2035 Comprehensive Plan was adopted in December, 2016 and is currently in effect. The plan has goals and policies for land use, historic preservation, economic development, housing, environment, public facilities, transportation, parks and recreation, annexation, and public involvement. The plan also includes land use and zoning maps, the Transportation Capital Facilities Plan, Parks/Trails System Plans, and Subarea plans for Ridgefield Junction, Pioneer &45th (Royle), and Downtown/Waterfront.
2025-2045 Comprehensive Plan
The 2025-2045 Comprehensive Plan will be an update to the 2016-2035 plan and must be adopted by June 30, 2025. Mandatory elements of the plan include:

Housing
Capital Facilities Plan
Utilities
Transportation
Economic development
Parks and recreation
Climate
Ridgefield Community and Public Participation
A public participation plan is a key part of Envision Ridgefield 2045. The city will work with a consultant to create an inclusive and equitable plan to engage the community and foster community ownership of the Comprehensive Plan and associated system plans.
