2026 Pavement Preservation

2026 Pavement Preservation work will include slurry seal operations in the Kennedy Farms, Pioneer East and Quail Hill neighborhoods.

Project Background

Ridgefield's livability, economic vitality, and public safety depend on a healthy, viable street system. This includes upgrading substandard roads, improving pavement conditions, and improving ADA accessibility. Scheduled maintenance extends the life of our streets by 50% and costs less than extensive repairs needed without it.

Each year Ridgefield completes road maintenance and preservation projects by monitoring and prioritizing streets according to the Pavement Conditions Index (PCI). Proactive pavement preservation methods are the best way to prevent costly street repairs in the future. This program is paid for by all who use Ridgefield’s streets through the Ridgefield Transportation Benefit District.

Slurry Seal work is scheduled for Friday, July 31 and Monday, August 3. View the 2026 Slurry Seal Maps (PDF) or the lists below for the street-by-street schedule.

Note: Friday is garbage pickup day in Quail Hill and Pioneer East. Garbage pickup will not be impacted by this work. Waste Connections will complete pickups through the areas in conflict prior to work beginning. The contractor will move empty cans from the street onto the curb prior to performing work.

ACTION REQUIRED: Trim Your Street Trees

As part of the 2026 Pavement Preservation Program we will soon be resurfacing streets in your neighborhood (see attached map). In order to complete this work, all street trees need to be trimmed to a height of 12’ off the edge of the asphalt. As per the Ridgefield Municipal Code, street trees are the responsibility of the abutting property owner. This means if there is a tree adjacent to the street in front/side/back of your house, it is your responsibility to make sure it is trimmed properly.

To avoid delays in resurfacing work, please ensure this work is completed by June 28th, 2026.

Tree trimming can be hard work! Your neighbors all need to complete this task in order to bring your shared street to renewed life. Consider working together to get this done, contact your HOA or your neighbors to see if there is a landscaping resource that can be used to get the job done. Please use discretion with tree trimming and avoid trimming newer/smaller trees to heights that may damage the tree. Our priority is to preserve trees, while maximizing clearance for maintenance vehicles.
