My street is scheduled for resurfacing, what do I need to do before hand?

If you receive notification that your street will have resurfacing work done, please follow all instructions on the notice. If you have lost or misplaced the notice, make sure:

    • Move all vehicles and personal property off of the road during the work day(s).
    • Check that your street trees are properly trimmed to a height of 12' from the asphalt, or to a height appropriate to the individual tree that maximizes street clearance.
    • Follow all signage, cones, or other directions to avoid driving on freshly treated street.

Will the street be closed during paving?

Yes. It is important that NO CARS drive on the street while the paving work is completed. Please plan accordingly and park your vehicle on a neighboring street if needed to avoid driving on freshly treated streets.

The contractor will remove barriers to the street when it is ready to be driven on.

How long will the street be closed?

The exact length of time will depend on the conditions for that day. The contractor will remove barriers as soon as it is safe to drive on the street. Please be patient and respect these barriers to protect this investment in our streets.

Why is my street not being resurfaced? When will you resurface my street?

Streets in Ridgefield are monitored and rated on the Pavement Conditions Index (PCI). Ridgefield aims to maintain an average rating of about 80 (Very Good). Each year streets are selected based on how we can utilize available funding to make the biggest impact.
